Elena planned to get up at 6:30 to straighten her hair because Luchi was picking her up at 7:45. She messed up setting her alarm so we didn't awaken until Luchi knocked on the door. Panic erupted but Elena was up, ready, and out the door in ten minutes-but her hair wasn't straight.
I asked Toyo to find my missing files. Within half an hour he had them and we transferred them onto my hard drive. I built those files in 2000. It must have been done on my first Brevard computer which had all sorts of problems. When it finally died I lost a lot of files. The Río León files must have been among them. Toyo also set up Canvas on my office computer. Within an hour, I had everything rescued and converted. I had forgotten how poor the sample quality was for that area. Even so, I think we made a very reasonable interpretation of the results. We may be able to publish this.
I received word from the ACA that they will not charge either Brevard or Ferrum for Todd's or my participation on the Galápagos trip. I received my first inquiry about the trip from a guy at Lindsey Wilson College.
I ate lunch in the apartment with Toyo, Alejandra, Marcela, Marcos, and Mariano. After lunch, I uploaded my journal to date to the MySpace blog. I'll do it with Facebook too. I also edited my story a bit more. It's almost there.
Elena's school went until 6:30. Then, she and Luchi went to the English institute until 8:00. They took the bus back to the apartment but didn't get here until almost 9:00. Since it was already so late, we decided to eat next door. Once again we could not refrain from overeating. We had a very nice table overlooking the big city below us. Our regular waiter was happy to offer suggestions and to accommodate us in any way he could. He got a good tip!
I made Elena go to bed as soon as we got back to the apartment. I stayed up for a little while but retired at about 11:30.
