Finally made it to Thunder Bay after a 2 hour stand still on TC11 right out of Nipigon. Apparently there was an accident involving 2 cars and a power line came down on one of them. The highway was completely blocked both directions.
This morning's drive started out at 9 am. On the highway between Timmins 655 and the TC11 towards Kapuskasing, we saw what we thought were 2 men in the distance. When we got closer we saw only one standing. He was flagging us down. I slowed down and as we got closer we saw that there was another man lying on the gravel shoulder of the road. He wanted us to stop. Whether it was legit or not, I had a gut feeling that we shouldn't stop so we continued on. 4 girls against 2 adult men....didn't want to take the chance. I called 911 and gave them the info and they said they'd send the police and an ambulance. We wouldn't have been able to do anything for them anyway with a full van
After stopping for lunch in Hearst, Ontario, Allison took the wheel. The deal was that she'd drive about 2 hours to Longlac but she was on a roll so she drove 3 and a half hours, 317 Kms, all the way to Beardmore. She drove through rain part of the way. She passed and was passed. Nice job Allison!
Thunder Bay looks very nice. We'll see more of it on the way home later in July.
Tomorrow on to Winnipeg and Cecile!

. I wonder if we're going to read about 2 escaped convicts apprehended because of 4 girls from Montreal...After stopping for lunch in Hearst, Ontario, Allison took the wheel. Sounds like the trip is going well so far.
Apart from the sleepy bears, are you seeing any wildlife?
Wise decision with the men on the road.
Boy, you're a great mom!
Keep the stories coming. They are a great record of your oddesy.
