I wake up to strawberries all over the place... I take my time waking up and make my way to the train station where I hop a train to Vasteras to meet up with another Malin from couchsurfing.  Vasteras is the 4th largest city in Sweden at 140,000 or so, situated on a large lake just west of Stockholm.  I get off the train to the bottle of wine in my bag exploding all over my brand new shoes and a bunch of scrap book papers I was saving.  Good news is that I continue to know nothing about wine so the "red" wine I had purchased didn't stain because it turned out to be "white"!

We walk back to her flat through the town park where at least half of the city must be hanging out.  Malin is very nice and after a brief pit stop at her flat, we hit the bars (which are within 5 minutes walking distance), and which I later realized would be a frequent event here in Vasteras...   We hit up a bar called Blue Moon Bar for something called "After Work".  I'm expecting a happy hour just as any I would have ever been to back in the states, or maybe a "Live at Five" type deal from Charlotte, but what I got was so much more!  After Work is a sight for sore eyes with people of all ages (20 to 80) chanting, dancing and drinking into the late night sunlight...  Everyone was so happy, not to mention drunk, and age meant nothing with people of all ages mixing at every table, locking arms in melodious song and dance!

A few of Malin's friends meet up with us as does her boyfriend and I quickly realize that she knows everyone who passes by when we head to an outdoor bar/restaurant post after work festivities...  A few hours at the outdoor venue, and a much needed bite to eat, and we walk back to the same bar that the after work party was at, only this time the live band has changed and the crowd's average age has fallen from 50 to 25...  A dance floor has now replaced the long 50-person tables that lined the bar earlier in the evening and the floor is absolutely packed.  Everyone is way too nice to me and I wind up "relatively" intoxicated by the time I hit my bed at, let's say, 5 am, to be nice... oh and the sun is up already at this point!
