Christine left after breakfast to catch her flight and I continued on to walk to the Tokyo international forum and on to the imperial palace gardens that we had missed the day before. They were nothing special as compared to Shanghai's YuYuan gardens but it did give me a great opportunity when my iPod momentarily busted. I decided to find the famous Akihabara electronics district to fix it and my struggling blackberry... why were all my electronics failing me in Tokyo of all places???
I walked on to Ueno park to see the Tosho-gu shrine, Kanei-ji temple pagoda and zoo, and various other statues and museums in the packed park.
By the time I made it back to the ryokan I needed to relax. I hit the spa and did some laundry before heading out for the night. I met up with Dan Zagoren (from Sig Chi at Emory) and he took me on a bar crawl of Rappongi, the one neighborhood I had yet to visit. This place was insane and reminded me of a cross between all the red light districts and elite club areas I've ever been to combined. We have a great night and I get a good feel for a bunch of different types of bars, clubs, lounges, hostess bars, etc...
I head home tired as ever...
