I take off with three other "family" members and head towards Samui on a long tail boat.  As we round the tip of Had Rin, I see the beach getting set up for a soccer tournament I had heard about a few days earlier.  I consult the powers that be (me, myself and I), and quickly find myself looking for a room so I can play in the tourney.  I find the last bungalow available, which also happens to be the last bungalow on the beach with an amazing view of all the action.  My neighbors (two really pretty 19 year old Swedish girls) immediately come over to say hi and we set up dinner plans for later in the day.

I sign up for the tournament and get placed on a squad called "Maccabi".  I meet my team in time to suit up (take my shirt off and make sure that my shoes are still off 8 days later, and counting) and introduce myself as Matisyahu.  Our draw pits us against an Irish, German, and Swedish team and we win two and tie another.  Playing in the soft sand really diminishes my speed advantage but I still manage to finish a few and secure our team a spot in the next round, which IŽll have to miss.  I get involved in a pick up game that has taken up down the beach and is being dominated by some local guys who are surprised to see a tall goofy white guy who can play.  Playing on a harder sand is much easier, but it also does a number on my feet and I wind up with a pretty deep cut from a piece of glass as a souvenir for a memorable and most enjoyable day of games on the beach!

Back at Paradise Bungalows, I find my neighbors still struggling to recover from the night before.  I motivate them to join me for dinner after all and we eat while watching Knocked Up.  All the restaurants here play movies, Friends and Family Guy all day long.  We make our way to my balcony for a little pre-game and soon find ourselves at the beach bars that materialize after sunset.  We enjoy a few buckets and dancing in the midst of several hundred ravers, fire shows, and revelers from across the world.  I wake up to find that my 108 vice necklace and sunglasses had been sacrificed to the sand gods the night before...
