The day of the half moon party!  I snag my complimentary breakfast and head to town on Limey to meet up with Nicky, Emma and James and find ourselves signed up for the Reggae Boat Tour with 10 strangers, each more unsuspecting of what was to come than the next.  The adventure started out as most on these so-called long tail boats do, in a spot of bother...  (Ive been hanging out with so many English people)  the boat had a tough time "starting" but came through big time after just 45 minutes of sputtering.

And we were off on our 6-hour tour enjoying playful if not slightly awkward banter as I would assume it should be with 3 americans, 2 Italians, 1 French living in Australia, and 5 Brits.  The group contained a mother and son, a couple that wasnt actually a couple as it turned out, sisters, two single guys, and a birthday girl.  Over the course of the next few hours the group snorkeled, played volleyball, hiked to waterfalls, swam, frolicked and actually bonded over some of the most majestic views anywhere.

At the end of the day we all agreed to meet up to head over to the half moon festival.  One by one, we showed up at the Reggae Bar to collect our free buckets that came with the trip.  The group was completely cohesive from the start and it was blatantly obvious as we argued and negotiated the price of our ride to the party in unison.

The party insane even though Im not all that into the techno scene.  Obviously, it was a half moon shindig and exciting if not crazy... but the new govt has decided to take an even harder stance on drugs and has selected Ko Pha Ngan to start, so the music was shut down at 2 in the morning at which point everyone returned to the beach from the jungle!  I wound up falling asleep in a chair on the beach for a few hours before finding Limey to escort me back to my bungalow...
