Unfortunately my camera ran out of juice for the first time on the trip, so pictures are purely in my head this time, but they are really good pics. I relax in the afternoon at the hostel's rooftop pool and even find time to take a short nap before getting ready for the night.
I head to a Muay Thai boxing night at Ratchadamnoen Boxing Stadium and meet up with a bunch of American guys ringside.
We are all seating in the front row and the action is brutal. Apparently this spectacle goes down every night of the week in Bangkok. There is rampant betting on each match, even though it appears as though they are all fixed as the general rule of thumb was that if I thought they won, they actually lost!
We hit up a few bars on Khoa San afterwards and I head to bed getting ready to snag an early bus to Cambodia and Angkor Wat in the morning... Apparently it's a 12 hour trip so I make sure that I'm going to be good and tired before finally leaving the mayhem of the street.
The train back is painless and I sleep almost the entire way with brief discussions with the monk across the aisle. I check into my hostel on Khoa San (backpacker's road) and walk around the center of the city to see Wat Pho, the Grand Palace, Phrakan Fortress, and Golden Mount Wat Saket.
