We've been in Bangkok about 3 days now after getting away from India! What a weird country that is, nothing seems to make any sense. Everyone is so friendly and will stare at you for hours on a bus ride, asking your name, country, job, how many rooms in your house etc etc but at the same time I've never been anywhere so frustrating! It took 3 men about 20mins to load our bags into a taxi, every single one of them banging their heads and tripping one of the others when we could've just put them in ourselves. A lot of shops have broadband internet but you have to wade through an open sewer to get inside or the owner has put out chapattis for the holy cows and now they're blocking the doorway. Another time I went to a restaurant toilet which had plenty of paper(a truly rare occasion that)except that every single piece had been pissed on! Why?! Lots of needlessly stupid things like that happen everyday in India!

Anyway, before leaving for Thailand we visited the Taj Mahal (which costs 8quid for foreigners and 25p for Indians!!!) Somwhere round here aswell we ate from a restaurant where the people don't bother to wash their hands because for the next 3 days we were both doing shits that looked no thicker than tea without milk. (If we were lucky it looked like someone had dunked their biscuit in it too long but that was the best it got) Even now, over a week later it's still not totally right!

Between the Taj Mahal and Calcutta, the end of our time in India we were supposed to take a boat trip on the River Ganges where they float dead bodies but I was too ill. Kirsty enjoyed it though but she got bitten by a zillion mosquitos! I did manage to visit an astrologer who told me my first marriage would fail miserably because I always choose negative women!!

So now we're in Bangkok which is a breath of less polluted air after India. The toilets are like something out of a dream. The people are obsessively polite and make me feel like a giant (It's supposed to be really bad manners to touch anyones head though so I should be careful!)

The traffic is unbelievable, I'm sure some people must live their whole lives in sight of the other side of the road without ever setting foot there because it's almost impossible to cross! I've seen lady-boys but we haven't had time to go to the Patpong area (with the pingpong shows) because we've been busy getting our cambodia visa etc. We have seen some giant lizards though whilst pedaloing on a lake. They look like man-eaters!!

Tonight we're catching a sleeper train down to Koh Samui one of the Islands in the gulf of Thailand & I'm gonna be super lazy there for about a week so I'll put some more details online then.
