After a super breakfast our first day in Hua Hin began with a short stroll to find a tuk tuk and negotiate a deal for the day.........found one!!!......there are only about 10000 of them!!.......Driver Danay.........900Baht.......the tuk tuk was all decked out in West Coast Eagles colours so paid him an extra 100Baht!!.......it was the most magnificent day with sunshine and even a cooling sea breeze around midday......literally went everywhere.........beautiful seaside views.......monkeys.......one even jumped on Cherie's back and tried to take her handbag.......another was successful in rummaging through the contents of the tuk tuk......grabbed a plastic bag with poncho's in it and headed for the nearest rooftop........only to be disappointed at his discovery.....just ripped the bag open ..........and the ponchos strewn all over the rooftop.....then he was outa there..........amidst Danay's fruitless protest
DANAY - TUK TUK OPERATOR!
.Visited a traditional Thai fishing village.........low tide and the beaches become so wide.........and just the most amazing vista after getting my exercise after climbing for some time...........fluid??!!!.........have never drunk so much water!!!
Watched as a pack of Golden Retrievers play along the beach and frolick in the sparkling waters.........so peaceful......so relaxing!!!
Oh well all that couldn't last for long!!!........on the way back we stopped at the latest addition to Hua Hin's shopping facilities...........HUGE SHOPPING COMPLEX!!!.......480 shops!!.......Cherie managed to find a few things and a visit to SWENSENS (Ice Cream parlour) topped off the day.........well that part of the day.
Back to the hotel........a goodbye to Danay.........he was to return at 10:30AM the next day and take us to the station.
We headed for the pool.........nice and private......and very refreshing
VIEW - HUA HIN
.Just on sunset we reappeared .......... walked thru the gardens of the Sofitel Centara Grand.......the first hotel built in Hua Hin back in the 1920's......very opulent and for those familiar with........... in the Raffles Hotel Singapore style.
Dinner at our favourite little street cafe'.........and an amble through.........yes you guessed it.........some more night markets and it was time to hit the hay!!!
Thursday we would be on our way again..........by train to Chumphon..........Pitchy would join us for the journey south and the meeting with her family........and to the by now expected RED CARPET treatment!!!!
