We made it! After about 19 hours of travel time we arrived safe and sound at our desintation. It was Kelsey's first time flying, and she handled it very well! Our flight was very smooth...and playing Bejeweled and watching movies during the flight made it seem to go by pretty fast :) Kelsey took some pictures of the flight and  of when we got to Maastricht, and you can check them out at yabroad-08/1202519100/tpod.html ! Our taxi ride from the airport in Maastricht to our campus was very entertaining... we  somehow fit five people and ten suitcases into a mini van! Needless to say....Kelsey was pretty buried in the backseat for most of the ride :) The taxi drivers here act much differently then they do in the U.S. Our taxi driver was dressed in a suit, and drove a really nice mini van...but most of them drive Chrysler 300' Mom...if Philips ends up not working out you can always come to Europe and be a taxi driver in your mafia boss car :) We arrived on campus around our room keys and headed upstairs to unpack. The room was a little intimidating at first (our dorm used to be an old hospital!), but is feeling more homie with each passing day! We found out that housekeeping comes in once a week and "tidy's up" for us. I'm not for sure what that means in Dutch terms..but it will be nice to not ever have to clean my room :) After cleaning up a bit, our Program Director and his assistant took us downtown to see the "real" Maastricht. We went to this cute little pizzeria, and I had my first legal beer! The pizza was delicious, and the company was amazing! Kelsey and I made our first friend on this little adventure to the pizzeria, and definately see a great friendship blooming!
The rest of the students have been rolling into campus these past couple days, and we have definately explored the town and it's beauty. Maastricht is absolutely gorgeous, and the pictures I have posted do this town no justice! A bunch of us students went downtown to celebrate the birthday of one of our classmates. We went to a bar called the Highlander, and actually met a person from Missouri there...small world right! :) We had orientation today...and start classes at 9 am tomorrow. I have made soooooo many new friends and am very excited for a great semester! The other students here are so friendly, and ready for a great adventure! I miss everyone sooo much already, but know that this will be a great experience while I'm here! Stay tuned for more updates from our overseas adventure!

Until next time....  :)
