Arrived back in BsAs on Thursday evening, didn´t get up to much Thursday night, woke at about 5am to thunder, lightening and really heavy rain. It didn´t let up all the next day and as Ciaran had managed to get that bug again, we decided to take it easy and go to the cinema to see The Last King of Scotland - really good. Saturday was overcast, we visited the zoo (would not recommend it) and went to a place called Club de Amigos for a swim. Saturday night we met up with Emmanuel (a guy from Buenos Aires who had been in Barcelona while we were there on Erasmus) and his girlfriend Maya. Had a good time and got a great insight into the country from them.

Sunday was bright and sunny. We headed off to meet Caroline and Paul (couple from Clare) for the Boca game. While we were waiting for the bus, I recognised a girl from Loreto in the group, turns out she is a good friend of Maeve Daly´s and is from Ashbourne (I keep meeting people from home by accident, it´s gas, the Irish really are everywhere !). The company we went with brought us to a pub in La Boca where they served us lots of Quilmes and pizza. It was Riquelme´s first match back for Boca and they were playing Rosario Central who weren´t meant to be that good so were hoping for lots of goals and also hoping that there wouldn´t be a repeat of the violence that took place in the River stadium the previous day where the match had to be abondoned and gun shots were fired !! No gun shots but only two goals 1-1, wasn´t as crazy as I expected but the crowd were very colourful and passionate nonetheless. They adore Riquelme for coming back to them.

Headed to San Telmo after the match, ate near the square where they have the milonga and bumped into Diane the German girl that we had met on the plane. Stayed drinking with Caroline and Paul in their hostel, the Millhouse (good place to stay especially if you want to party) until 4am. We were a little hungover the next day so didn´t do too much. Went to the bus station to organise our bus to Mendoza and then wandered around the city until it was time to go back and get it. We ate in Puerto Madero (upscale port area), was nice but fairly pricey by Argentine standards. Went for a drink in the Irish bar called the Kilkenny, again really pricey by Argentine standards - Ciarán paid Eur6 for a rotten pint of Guinness. Treated ourselves to a suite for our bus journey, all the buses are really comfy in Argentina but the seats fully recline when you get a suite bus v´s 45 degrees for a cama bus. Was nice but really the cama buses are fine and probably not worth splashing out the extra cash on a suite.

Summary / Observations
Great to get back to Buenos Aires. We were able to take it a bit easier this time as we had done a lot of the sight-seeing first time around. Would recommend catching a Boca game if you can but unfortunately, you have to go through companies that bring you to the game and charge you way over the odds for the ticket. The whole thing including pizza and beer cost us 110 pesos (less than Eur30), not bad but the face value of ticket was 14 pesos !! If you want a mad night out head to Opera Bay (ask Paul the guy from Clare, he will tell you all about it !!)- it looks like the Sydney Opera House, holds about 3/4 thousand people and at dawn they open the roof so that you can watch the sun come up and keep dancing in the open air until 8am !!
