I have to remember not to get on the piss the night before I have an early flight to catch! I was rubbish in the morning and had to walk about 1km to the train station and then get a bus at the end of the train line to the airport. I think I was in a complete daze walking through the Budapest airport! It didnt help when to get to Istanbul I first had to fly to Munich and then get a flight to Istanbul.
I got to Istanbul around 4pm and within five seconds of getting off the tram in Sultahamet, the locals were onto me. Do you need accomodation, do you want to do tours, do you want to buy carpet. The first guy was pretty good though and gave me directions to my hotel. After checking in I went for a walk hoping to go to the Grand Bazaar. On the way though another local got me into his carpet store. Man wasnt I a sucker, I thought they wouldnt let me leave without buying a carpet
After that I went back to the hotel and went to the Terrace Bar for dinner. This was really nice and had a great vıew of the Blue Mosque and Istanbul and helped me forget about carpet! The dinner was really nice and the Turkish beers were pretty good too. The next day I have to get up early for a tour out to Gallipoli so I didnt have too big a night.

. The ones they showed me where only $900 euro!! But I eventually got out of there without buying one much to there disappoinment. I found it a nerve racking position to be in, but I thought later I might of been just a bit too paranoid. Eıther way I aint buyıng a carpet for 900 euro when the rug guys back home have them on sale for $100.After that I went back to the hotel and went to the Terrace Bar for dinner.
