Where I stayed
Our van problem was no longer our problem so we decided to go to the Coquitlam mall and purchase a ‘few’ last minutes items for our journey. By noon Sabrina had seen a dentist because of a major tooth ache and it was discovered she needed an emergency root canal so that is what she did for the next 2 hours and $1,200 later she gave us a few drug induced ‘droolly’ smiles with her dentist and dental hygienist
Meanwhile and the whole while plus some…………….Janice was getting her hair done at one of the shops in the Mall. James also agreed to get his first ‘professional’ hair cut which afterward we almost lost in the Mall because we didn’t recognize him.
I was reminded of a few things while contemplating Sabrina’s fate – dental work in Canada or Bulgaria; the whereabouts of Janice; and after the events of the day how were we going to make it 78 more! By dinner time with the family and some wine everything was looking ‘doable’ again. I did learn something that day thought – a root canal takes LESS time to get then does a woman’s ‘hairdo’ and almost costs the same!
A new day and a new place – London! (England) We have the great pleasure to be given the Royal Tour of London and Canvey Island (and surroundings) by our now great friends Alan & Elaine. I’m guessing you have heard of London but perhaps not Canvey Island: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canvey_Island Our connection to this wonderful couple goes back to Summerland where Elaine had been my campaign manager when I attempted to become Mayor and who went on to become very involved in our community right up to being Councilor for the Municipality of Summerland.
I said Royal Tour as we got Alan’s 60 years of living in London and area tour first hand via their van where we saw as much and learned as much as 6 people could in one day. I bet you don’t know the Queen’s middle names …..if not ask Monique! Elaine and Alan have made their home ours and have given us a real English experience which will not soon be forgotten. Thank YOU!!
