Antananarivo 15th May 2008
We head back to Antananarivo for our last night in Madagascar. We said our thank you and goodbyes to Lova our trusty driver and checked back into the Sole Hotel again.
We had a last afternoon of shopping, posting cards and general last minute dashing about.
Then on the 16th we headed off for the airport and for our flight to Mauritius again!!!
There we stayed one night where it rained all night on arrival and on and off all the next day too. Apparently it had been like this for the last 4 days. Pity those poor people on there 2 week holiday.
We decided to treat ourselves a couple of months ago (when booking our flights) and fly business class from Mauritius to Dubai. Oh lar lar!! We checked in really early for our flight just to make the most of the freebies and goodies served in the business class lounge. Free Wifi internet and chatting to my mum on MSN while sipping champers the whole works. Martin even had a shower!!! We could get used to this.
The flight itself was really comfortable. Massive seats, loads of leg room, delicious meals and a huge video library at your own request. The 6 hour 30 minute flight passed too quickly.
On arrival in Dubai we were met by our previously arranged Emirates Chauffeur who drove us to our chosen hotel. This service was included in the price of the business class ticket. This time we choose the Sofitel City Centre Hotel which is within the City Centre Deira mall.
As we were contemplating upgrading our digital camera it seemed a good idea to stay near a shopping mall.
The hotel was very comfortable with a roof top swimming pool which we managed to use once in our 2 night stay in Dubai. We bought a new camera too. So now we are ready for Africa. A main reason for upgrading the camera to one with a better zoom. Well that's what Martin says and he is the one who will be taking the photos. Stayed tuned for the next chapter Dar es Salaam.........
