Well we were not sure what to expect of Gibralter.
Just as well really as it's a strange mix of a large port and an old council estate ! For those who aren't sure what we mean by council estate, its a housing area where no-one owns property (its all owned by the government and rented out cheaply) this rarely exists in Enland these days (its all mixed with owned property or has just been sold off now) But here it has never changed ! Perhaps this has to do with the fact that most of this port is for the English navy, and the town has been built up by families of the sailors ? or just grown to supply the navy base over the years, who knows ?
Nowdays it has become a duty free day trip from the coastal resorts up the coast, apart from the historic rock itself and the macaque monkies that have developed a strong hold of there own here, we found little else to see here. A day trip is enough time to explore here. More thumbnails ...
