now find ourselves in the "tres chic" port of La Rochelle. "Oh Lar Lar" we hear you chant. Well yes it is very beautiful here with 14th to 18th Century buidings (probably even older) in cobbled streets everywhere. We won't be buying property here unless we rob a banque first!!
The weather has been fab so far. We have definately noticed the temperature warming as we head further south. And the roofing on buildings has changed from stone to slate to spanish clay tile as it has warmed up. Lets hope the sun continues.

Tomorrow we head south east to the Dordogne area where no doubt more wine tasting on Caroline's part will be done!!
We are off now for a coffee in the warm sunshine over looking the Old Port here in La Rochelle. It's a hard life but someone has to do it!!!
