Our next destination was the area to the east of Cherbourg, Brittany where we stayed with yet more english friends Linda and Mel who had up'ed sticks from UK some 18 months ago and decided to renovate a property over here. We picked their brains about the pro's and cons of doing such a project and figured that as they are now on their 3rd, that it can't be that bad, can it!!!
They live in a beautiful farm house which they have now finished and sold another which was and still is, a ruin, next door and are now currently renovating another huge farm house in the middle of nowhere with only the birds to listen to. It did help that Linda could speak very good French, not for the birds mind, but for all the estate agents etc!
