As the sun rose we found Tahiti to be much more developed than the Cook Islands, the only greenery was up in the steep volcanic hills or private gardens.
We moved islands to Moorea as fellow travellers had advised us was a quieter and cheaper option to stay.
Over the next week we took in some of the sites by bike/bus/boat most of which were beautiful and the scuba diving/snorkelling is very good.
However when walking along the beaches we found trying to get back onto the road was a bit of a problem, as there do not seem to be any paths between the two. (the most valuable/desirable place to build is with a beach front so everyone uses the high tide mark and the full width and length of their plot to build the fence on, this happens almost all-round the islands) so a stroll at low tide looks great until the time comes to leave (or it's getting dark)and you can't. Therefore, at high tide there is no other option but to wade home over various obstacles (not fun in the dark!)
So after a bit more exploring and topping up our tans in Tahiti it was time to move on !!!!
