Took the ferry to Santorini this afternoon. I must say, it shocks me how much luggage some of these people take on these ferries. You would think they were moving their entire households to the islands but they are probably only traveling for 4 days or something. I saw luggage five times the size of my rolling backpack for one woman arriving in Mykonos. She had to have strangers help her roll it off the boat.
Well after another ferry ride, I have decided to spend 3 days in Santorini. And I decided to splurge on a nicer hotel instead of just taking one of the ones that they offer you at the dock. I wanted someplace that was a little more secluded, a little more of a refuge where I could just relax and read books in beauty and solitude if I want. I was feeling a bit of buyer's remorse about this, thinking I was spending too much and being a little wasteful instead of just taking the usual place on the island. But then I GOT here.
Okay people, I can honestly say that it is a crying shame that I am not here with a man. Because this is the most incredibly romantic place I could freaking imagine. The view is absolutely astonishing. I am blown away. (You'll see photos eventually... promise.) If you ever have a chance to stay in this hotel, DO IT. I have stayed in a lot of sweet little places in the last month, but this is hands down the most special place I have stayed since the ecolodge in Siwa. I am in awe.

Hi!
I hate you, I hate you.
my sentiments exactly
I was just about to post a comment about how jealous I was when I read the one above. Ditto. Actually, I'm happy for you but there is a tinge of green under my skin right now...
But Linda...
I thought you didn't like to travel!? Ya gotta travel to get to places like this, y'know... ;)
Content to be hated,
Lynn
Incredible
The hotel where you are staying at is so beautiful. I am definately going to make a point to get there. I really enjoy the travelog and my kids are enjoying the geography lesson. It is really well done and they are eager to return to Europe and travel to Greece. Branko is leaving the 21st of May, I believe, for Belgrade. He'll be there for several months. I need to give you my friend's name & number in Croatia. I don't know if it's kosher to post it here. So let me know if I can send it to your e-mail address. Norma
