Thank you all for the nice thoughts regarding my foot. All I can say is YAY for painkillers! I shoulda tried some weeks ago! Wheeee!
I took a fancy bus from Istanbul to Ankara today, complete with bow-tied waiter serving drinks. My seatmate, Sebnem, turned out to be Turkeys very own Amateur Salsa Dance Champion. She has only been dancing a year so she is either very, very, very good or there is little competition. She was incredibly sweet and we had some really wonderful conversations, so that made the bus ride very pleasant.
After talking to her I realized that I do need to go back to Istanbul someday because I really didnt experience enough of it in my 4 days and would like to have a better understanding of the city and what makes it tick. She has offered to be my tourguide next time and show me just how great the nightlife is there... I think that would be better to experience without a broken foot so I am not really that upset I missed it this time. I really needed to relax when I was there, and to decompress and adjust to the culture shock from leaving Egypt. So hey... I will just have to come back! Darn. ;)
Anyhow, my next bus to Cappadocia leaves in an hour so I am going to get some food.
Talk to you all later!
