Bubba's Fabulous Babes have been home now for 3 weeks. It is good to be in our own beds, but nothing is ever simple. Angi came home to a root canal, Sarah to an AC that had been blown by lightning and a rash, Linda to a lost GPS and mounds of laundry (as Linda tends to do) and me to trying to remember my code for my house alarm! Thank you all for blogging with us along the way. We loved hearing from you.
Our 1,800 miles home using the Southern route gave us no time to stop. Eat, Sleep and Drive – wonder if there is a movie in that? It was a bittersweet return – we found ourselves happy to be back and in touch with friends, family and our everyday lives, but on the other hand, we had just spent every waking (and sleeping) hour with the same people for FOUR WEEKS
We continue to marvel at how well we planned, how much we learned, how much we saw and how well things went with Bubba. Doing it again? In a minute (I think, right Babes?) but we would plan a little more down time – after all, we are senior citizens! We would have loved to have vegged in the RV parks a little more because folks were so friendly and interesting.
So, no tickets, no hospitals, no dings or dents -- just the best time 4 good friends could have. Twenty-five hundred miles in Bubba and 3,600 miles in Linda’s van. Not bad for Grandmas! Even though we have been friends for close to 40 years, we still learned about each other, we still love each other and we are still talking to each other! That I would say is a successful trip!
As we move onto our next adventure, we will continue our daily lives in the true spirit of NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST. We have compiled fantastic memories to add to our years of memories – we’ll use them in the nursing home in 30 or 40 years!
Bye for now from Bubba’s Fabulous Babes until our next great adventure. We love you all!
