By the time he returned, just after 08:00, I was feeling much better. We tottered over to the restaurant for breakfast and coffee. Although I was quite satisfied with Museli and Yoghurt, Terry was really missing his eggs. The cold scrambled and fried eggs in the Bain Marie just didn't do it for him, so he asked one of the assistants if he could have two hot fried eggs. She took him over to the Bain Marie and pointed to the pile of cold eggs, Terry said 'no' quite firmly, ' I want fresh eggs'. She looked all quizzical, as if this was the first time she had heard this request, and walked away
We took up our usual spot in the shade and went out early for a swim. Terry had started setting challenges for us every day - my challenge, as a new swimmer, was generally distance related. But today my challenge took on a whole new direction which Terry decided to demonstrate. He swam to where the sea was up to his neck, removed his swimming trunks; swung them around his head three times facing the coastline then dived forward doing a somersault in the water, thus displaying his lily white derrière to the coastline audience. He finished the sequence with a star jump. Needless to say, I didn't take on the challenge. I wasn't confident enough to do somersaults.
At around 14:00 we wandered to the nearby 7/11 and bought some crackers, cheese, yogurts and drinks for lunch
We returned to our spot after lunch and I went out for a swim on my own. For a long time I thought I was the only person in the water, but all of a sudden two divers appeared from nowhere. Note: consider this in Terry next challenge.
At around 17:00 we took a walk up to the end of Long Beach. On the way back we stopped for drinks at a beachside resort and watched the sun setting.
In the evening we ate at a small restaurant along the road called the Fishermans Kitchen. I had seared Barracuda, salad and roast potatoes and Terry had a Pad Thai. I had a Chang beer but Terry resisted and had an Apple Lassi. I think he regretted his decision as soon as he saw mine which was served with a cooled, frosted glass. His came with a flower and two pink straws.
On the way home we stopped again at the 7/11 and bought ice cream and some sweet treats to have back at 4C.
