The breakfast was pretty mediocre compared to what we had become accustomed to at the Lanta Mermaid. Buffet style toast, coffee, Museli and yoghurt were the order of the day, as all the eggs, frankfurters, omelettes etc were stone cold, even though they were in Bain Marie's.

On the way back to our bungalow (4C) from breakfast we collared a sun lounger and a deck chair and placed them just outside of the resort at the head of the beach, beneath some pine trees. We reckoned this would give us some shade without restricting our view of the marvellous beach and blue sea.

We spent most of he day lounging in the dappled shade, sometimes treading the short journey from our chairs to the sea for a swim. We seemed to be the only ones around much of the time, so took advantage of the fact and completely stripped off in the water. This made me laugh so much; Terry waving his shorts around his head, until I noticed an orange snorkel heading our way............

At around 14:00 we wandered around to the neighbouring resort, Castaway, for a couple of fruit shakes and a club sandwich to share. After this we took a short stroll along to the local shops to get some shower gel and some drinks to keep in the fridge, including, of course, some Chang beer.

We returned to our chairs on the beach at about 17:00 for another swim. Terry popped back to 4C at about 18:00 to get some chilled glasses and one of the Chang's, whilst we sat to watch the sunset.

We returned to 4C at around 19:00 to freshen up; then wandered back down to the main road to find a restaurant for an evening meal. We found another Raan restaurant and decided to see if it was as good as the one on Klong Dao beach. Terry had the 'Chefs Recommendation' which was Grilled Tuna Steak in a Lemon and Dill sauce with Spinach topped with Mozzarella Cheese; and I had a Papaya Salad with Sticky Rice. We both had a desert of fresh fruit salad and ice cream. All this with a couple of Chang beers - we concluded it was as good, if not better than the Klong Dao Raan.

After our meal we discussed how easily we had slipped into the habit of drinking every day, and have decided to put a cap on the amount of Chang's we consume. You will no doubt notice a decrease in the amount of empty Chang bottles that make an appearance in many of our photos, specifically those taken after midday, as it is a sin to consume alcohol in the mornings, even when you are on holiday.......

Our last thought of the day was that I must put reviews of all the lovely restaurants we had been in on Trip Adviser!
