After our eventful day yesterday, we both woke up tired however, made it down to the buffet breakfast at the Thumrin Thana hotel at about 09:00. We needed to decide what we were going to do; whether we would stay another night, assuming they had a room, or whether we would try and get to to one of the Thai islands. We had no set plans - we were planless.

After breakfast we sat in a room adjoining the breakfast room to consider our options. We ascertained that we would not be able to arrange transport to Had Yao Pier to catch a Ferry to an Island without pre booking and that the earliest we would be able to travel was the next day, so Terry organised a room for a further night.

The Wifi in the Hotel was extremely slow but eventually, we managed to book a Hotel for 3 nights on Koh Lanta. I had done some former research regarding how we could reach the Islands and had read favourable reviews about a company called Tigerline. This company would arrange a mini bus to pick us up from the Hotel, then would drive us to Had Yao pier where we would catch the ferry to Koh Lanta - the complete package; perfect. We found them on the Internet and Terry ordered two tickets. After a couple of hours we received confirmation that Tigerline would pick us up from the Hotel at 09:40 the next morning.

God knows how we would have managed without the Internet.

By this time I had started suffering from cabin fever and wanted to go out. Terry said there was nowhere to go, but I had read in the South East Asia book that Trang should not be dismissed as just a stop over point, and that in fact, it was worth walking around. We managed to find a small bar, which was cited in the book, called 'My Friend' where we stopped for a beer but apart from that, there was nothing else to see. Don't believe everything you read.

We returned to the Hotel and each had a shower, it was so incredibly humid and dusty on the streets. After that, we lay on our beds ( we had a double each - pure comfort), and watched a couple of films on the TV; The Woman In Black and The Beach.

We went down to the restaurant in the Hotel for an early dinner. We were hoping the band would be playing outside again, as they were really good but instead, it was Karaoke. Karaoke is big in South East Asia, the locals love it.

After a couple of beers and an ice cream we retired to our room where I updated this blog and Terry watched yet another film; Prince Caspian. We packed most of our belongings for the morning and although had hardly lifted a finger all day (apart to tap on the keys of the IPad), felt completely shattered and both fell to sleep early.

Terry woke in the night freezing and had to use our two bath sheets and the extra pillows to cover himself to keep warm. I woke in the night and saw the pillows balancing on him - I wish I had taken a photo. In the morning I remembered I had set the air con to a low temperature when we had returned from our walk around Trang and had forgotten to reset it. Oh well, hey ho, these things happen. I couldn't be expected to remember everything.
