We got up this morning for breakfast and to meet our new lovely friends...this was a would appear that in our early 30s it is not advisable to drink with 23 year olds!!!

After breakfast we decided to head into recoleta to explore the famous cemetery, being adventurers we decided to do this by bus, having been told buy the guys working in the hostel that this was the best way! Sadly to get on a bus here you need the correct change in coins...turns out that it is quite tough to actually get coins since they have both notes and coins for 1 and 2pesos!! We had to be creative in our water buying and do a bit of begging to get enough coins...again speaking Spanish would have helped! Once we were on the bus we found that we were 2pesos short and the bus driver was not impressed..but a lovely local lady took pity on us and bargained with the bus driver for us!! :)

The cemetery is awe inspiring in its size and beauty...the crypts (I think that's what you would call them) were so beautiful and varied! I'm still not certain how I felt about seeing coffins through the windows and doors but it is certainly a beautiful way to honor the dead.

As it is Saturday there is a little market around the cemetery so we had a wander through that and I was even brave enough to but some street food...a bread pasty stuffed with ham and egg and cheese was yummy! The temperature was amazing (though with a bit of a hangover Sara and Lawrence did struggle somewhat!) we all got a little bit burnt and sweaty but nothing too traumatic!

There is also a giant metal flower (art) in recoleta which we went to is beautiful and in its own little park...the flower actually opens through the day and closes at night!

After recoleta we decided on a couple of hours of quiet time to sleep and shower before heading out again for the evening!

We headed on the subway to Palermo in the evening with the kids to meet their friend polly for dinner...we were all very proud of our subway experience and I even had a VERY brief conversation with the lady sat next to me! Dinner was great-steak in Argentina is indeed amazing! Sadly Polly turned out to be a bit of a dick (possibly because we stole her friends and crashed dinner!). After dinner Sara and I decided to head home having decided that we were possibly just too tired to be bothered trying to make conversation and to give the others a chance to catch up! Sadly the subway turned out to be closed so we tried the train...which didn't go where we needed it taxi it was! Some comedy insued while we tried to explain to the driver where we wanted to go (our third driver and third attempt got us to the obelisk and Sara's sense of direction got us back from there!!)

Yet again slept like a baby!!!
