Our last stop in Oz was Perth.
Needless to say that after our previous mis-adventures onboard the s.s. Reformation we were in desperate need of some quiet time. So thats exactly what we got from Perth, 3 days of r and r.
We arrived into the city on day one to soaring temperatures and to a not so hot hostel at Underground Backpackers. After a stroll around the town we reckoned that Perth was'nt much different to Adelaide except for, no. 1: all the great people we knew in Adelaide. And no.2: the million bloody Irish people floating about. Sure it was like Courtown or Salthill on a sunny day.
We rocked out to Freemantle on our second day on the extremely cheap train. Freemantle is a groovy little town full of nice cafes, pubs and a cool little market .
On our last day in town we went to the Cinema Paridiso close to our hostel to see the flick Frost Nixon. Twas a good movie indeed and another night off the booze.
So that sort of concluded our brief spell in Perth. On the dry, on the mend and on our way to exciting backpacker adventures in the wilds of South East Asia. We had had it good and easy over the last 3 months between Oz and New Zealand and were under no illusions about the challenges , both enjoyable and troublesome that awaited us.
