On we flew from Sydney to Adelaide. We would only have a few days here this time but would be returning for a much longer streak around Christmas.

We got here the day before my birthday and were picked up at the airport by Ben and Kim. We left our bags back at their house delighted to have a room where we could hang things up in and use shelfs and generally put the living out of a bag on hold for a while. We headed into town to a pub which, coinciding with our arrival, had decided to put on one dollar beers for the day. Lydia had spent a good bit of time in Adelaide before so was familiar with the town and with plenty of the crew who we would come to meet here. Tess and a couple of her mates came out to meet us and we also met up for dinner with Steve and Beck who had been in Ireland a couple of years ago and at the Szieget festival in Hungary with us.

Next morning I was awoken to breakfast in bed and plenty of cool pressies including packets of Tayto cheese and onion and a bottle of Buckfast. These had been secretly procured by Lyds in Sydney through her Irish buddies there. Ben and Kim brought us to lunch in the amazing Penny Hill vinyard up in the Mclaren Vale wine region. They had arranged for a 5 course meal whereby each course is served with a complementing glass of the vinyards wine. It was a gorgeous meal and a great start to the day. we visited another vinyard on the way back where Lydia made friends with the house dog while I discussed the merits of new world wines with the wine master. Back in Adelaide we met up with a load of the crew for an Italian meal and then headed to a party at Tess' place .

It had been a great day and night and as we nursed sore heads in the morning Kim and Murph were reminded that they had commited the previous night to play a football match today for Adelaides only all female footie team in the indoor league " the Special Lady Friends". True to their words they donned the green jerseys and put up a brave performance keeping the opposition down to a very respectful 11-0 scoreline. Myself and Ben had a much more relaxing afternoon as we went along to the world famous Adelaide Oval to see the Aussies take on New Nealand in cricket.

Before we flew off to Alice Springs mid-week we had a couple of ultra relaxing days enjoying the pleasure of the equally world famous Mr. Couch, being introduced to the cool new t.v. series of Dexter and Califonication and a beautiful meal cooked up by Kim's mum in their gorgeous house up in the Adelaide hills.

As we set off on our flight to Alice Springs I was already looking forward to getting back to "Radalaide".
