I spoke too soon in my last entry. We have to leave this dump by boat, up to Rio Dulce. The sooner the better. The minute we arrived neither of us liked the feel of the place. We were accosted by around 15 people trying to grab our bags and bring us to hotels for "special rates" i.e. rip off rates where they get a slice of commission. When you walk down the street people cat call and try to sell you things...the Lonely Planet said the place has an edgy feel. For that in future IŽll read slightly intimidating and creepy.
