Wrangel
Wrangel
Normally this would have been written contemporaneous with our visit to Wrangell; however, we have adopted a new format so this is being done many months after our visit. Therefore, for each town we are asking ourselves would we return and the answer has always been "yes". That is in part because we are a little early in the season (we were going to be a month later; changed our plans when Robyn decided to get married which forced us back to the lower 48 several weeks before our original planning), and in part because there are activities we would have done if we were later in the season and had more time. That's right - more time to enjoy the flora and fauna, more time to go fishing, more time to play golf, and more time to just enjoy the area and read a good book. Chief Shakes' Island

The Stickeen River Cruise
The Stickeen River Cruise
Aside from just enjoying the area, our primary pre-booked activity was The Stickeen River Cruise; where else, up the Stickeen! All the way to the hot tubs collecting the natural hot artesian water. Stickeen Cruise: Chief Shakes Hot Tub

Going up the river was a lot of fun and very interesting; onto Petersburg.
