This visit to San Diego was quite unique because for the first time we
were staying with Jay's daughter, Jamie, at her apartment instead of
our usual digs - Jay's brother Steve's home. We thoroughly enjoyed our
three weeks; it was broken up by a short visit to Tijuana, Mexico, and
another short visit to Jay's friends, The Schneiders, in Los Angeles.
Not knowing what to expect fortunately we went early because we spent the entire day aboard the Midway. We would highly recommend the tour.
At the custom furniture store, after we learned that our primary
purpose for visiting TJ was a bust, the fellow we spoke to suggested
that we travel approximately 40 miles south to a town - I do not
remember the name - that specializes in lobster creations. When we said
that we didn't have transportation he gave us the name of a restaurant
right near our hotel that was also "lobster heaven."
Steve & Mary; my oldest daughter and her fiancee Robyn and Adhi (wedding in August); my youngest daughter and her boyfriend Jamie and Erik; and my most fantastic wonderful wife and traveling partner Jackie.
Some of you are aware that prior to living in a land yacht - our caravan - I was a blue water sailor and sailed across the Pacific in my own yacht - Skywave - in 1992; my blue water sailing
career ended when I sold Skywave in 2001 in Australia. At the very beginning of my sailing adventure, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Craig Weise, a psychologist from San Diego. Unlike myself and many other sailors who never crossed their outbound track, Craig and his then partner Mark circumnavigated the globe in their yacht Pandarosa. Craig and I have kept in touch over the years and we had fun catching up and going for a sail on his catamaran.

Captain Jak on the Midway
One activity that Jackie and I shared with Steve and Mary was a visit to the USS Midway which is now a floating museum. Not knowing what to expect fortunately we went early because we spent the entire day aboard the Midway. We would highly recommend the tour.

Entering Mexico
We went to Tijuana so that Jak could have a taste of Mexico, albeit a "Tijuana Taste", and we were specifically shopping for seating material for our caravan. Those of you who have been following our adventures on our former website know that we are very into hot Latin colors, and we were not able to find the perfect material in Australia.
Beans and Beans and Chillies
Tortillas: fresh and warm
We enjoyed fresh tortillas right from the machine -mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! At the custom furniture store, after we learned that our primary

Steve & Mary's home: Set for Passover
Passover Seder at Steven and Mary's home was a wonderful gathering of my immediate family: my brother and sister-in-law (really my sister)Steve & Mary; my oldest daughter and her fiancee Robyn and Adhi (wedding in August); my youngest daughter and her boyfriend Jamie and Erik; and my most fantastic wonderful wife and traveling partner Jackie.
Mary and Steve - a wonder experience!
A tired couple; a Seder well done! Thank you. Hollywood Blvd: Walk of Stars
Time to play tourist; we are visiting the infamous Hollywood Boulevard with it's "Stars"Hollywood Blvd: Chinese Graumans Theater
Grauman's Chinese Theater with it's hand and footprints, and after lunch at Musso & Franks - a Hollywood icon - Farmers Market
we had dessert at Farmers Market. It was a very good day!
Farmers Market: Hmmmm - Cinamon Scroll

San Diego Art Walk - Steve's Booth
My brother, Steven Gould, is a professional photographer in his second childhood. His website stevegouldphotography.com tells it all and shows it all. During this visit to San Diego Jackie and I had the opportunity to watch Steve at work during one of the many art festivals he participates in during the year. Art Walk is an annual fine art festival in downtown San Diego's scenic Little Italy neighborhood. Craig and Jay
