After a nearly sleepless night, listening to dad snore (ugh!) we got up and had breakfast in the commons at the hostel.  We sat at the table and talked to these two really cool dudes from England.  The guy that did most of the talking had a really thick British accent and was pretty tough to understand sometimes, but he was nice.  They spent a couple of days in New York and Washington, D.C. and are on their way to California and then Australia.

Our breakfast was standard stuff...toast, cereal, mini-muffins, that sort of thing.  After our meal we went back to the room, packed, put our bags in a locker and set out to see some of the city.

The first impression of Chicago:  SUNSHINE!!  Sweet, blessed, SUNSHINE!!  After weeks of dreary Seattle rain... and... snow... we finally got to see the sun!!  We walked a couple of blocks to Millenium Park, and I took lots of pics and movies (as you get to see a few here).  They were just starting to unload equipment for what looks to be a movie about to be filmed on location.  Cool.

After seeing the cool sculptures and stuff (they had some weird metal things in a row, and this huge, giant metal jellybean thing) we made our way back toward out hostel and lunch.  What could be a more appropriate place for lunch than a place called EPIC BURGER!  :D

So now we are at the library, finishing up today's entry just 4 hours away from taking off from O'Hare to Paris.  It will be a long flight (just over 8 hours) with probably not much sleep (again).  Next stop Paris!

It sounds fun! I can totally imagine your dad getting you lost in Chicago!
Like the Jelly Bean... oh, yeah. It is awesome.
I'm guessing the =D next to Epic Burger meant it was good?
