Sunday, March 7, 2010

Hi all

So as you will see I am St-Louis, which is a slight change to the itinerary- but I will get to that.

Niokolo-Koba National Park was not a highlight. I did see hippos in the water during a pirogue trip but they were quite far away- in the photos they look like rocks! However, one good thing was while I was in the pool a couple of monkeys came for a drink!

While in Niokolo the group decided that they wanted to add St-Louis to the trip if possible, cutting out a few nights bush camping. We made Palmarin in a days drive (not 3 like the itinerary) which has given us time to come here.

St-Louis is great- crumbling colonial buildings and everybody is relaxed. Unfortunately there was no live jazz last night- but a good night out none the less!

St-Louis has definitely been the highlight of Senegal and not I'm particularly looking forward to the complete chaos of Dakar, especially after très tranquille St-Louis.

So the trip is nearly over and part 2 beginning- when I get back to Ghana I will be based in a village approx 8km out of Cape Coast, building at a primary school.

Anyway I have to go as the lady in the internet place wants to shut up- it is Sunday afternoon after all.

End Blog!
