There is a different atmosphere in Kerman; different from the other Iranian cities. The city feels more dangerous and you can see more poor people begging on the streets and some gypsies harassing the tourists.
The highlight of my stay in this area was the day tour and one night I spent in the desert. The Kaluts of Dasht-e Lut desert near Shafi Abad are amazing!!!
The day started with a separate visit to the citadel of Rayen - beautiful old ruins of a mud village surrounded by 5 metre walls. Than I met my tour guide at Mohan and was in the desert a couple of hours before sunset. I walked around and hiked up some interesting hills carved by erosion. It is so peaceful there. All I could hear were my own foot steps cracking the toasted ground.
We (other 3 tourists, a driver and the guide) were supposed to spend the night in the desert but due to security reasons the police ordered we stayed in a camping ground closer to the village of Shafi Abad. The camping ground was very cool itself: in the middle of nowhere, with nice huts built with palm tree leaves. We preferred to sleep in the open and catch the nice breeze of the desert. The stars and wind were nice, but I ended up waking up at 5:00 in the morning with the strong desert sun.
The Kaluts is my favorite place in this trip so far!!

maravilha
Beijo e boa viagem!
Dúvidas, críticas, sugestões!
