I arrived in Kashan at around 15:00 and the city was very quiet! and I thought: excellent, now I can relax and recover from busy Tehran. But Kashan turned out to be noisy too! It was dead quiet when I arrived just because Iranians seem to take a Siesta from 13:00 to 16:00; shops close and you can hardly see a living soul on the streets of smaller towns.
Kashan has a very atmospheric bazaar; the beautiful Fin Gardens; and very nice Islamic architecture.
Kashan is also home to one of the most important Archeological sites in Iran: Sialk Hills - where they found painted pottery dating back to 4000 BC and also what a local restaurateur claims to be the first signs of woven cloths ever produced.
