Yesterday was a rather more restrained day, considering I've so far required an afternoon nap everyday since arrival...although that could eb due to the time difference waking me up at 4am as far as my body is concerned. Today, for the first time, no nap - thank goodness, I was starting to fear a 'slowing' - Granny was out-doing me!
Indeed having had the privilage, in my male dominant family (on Granny's side), of going to Granny's woman only reknown book group, I was later K.O.'d without thought on my bed in the afternoon and meeting Jean for tea rather bleary eyed!
Happily breaking the cycle today, I've been much more productive, driving the 'Krazy' (not really) automatic car, shopping, and most importantly going with Granny to the National Trust AGM where she recieved an Honour award for service. Trying to take photos on my phone camera (only space for photo taking left at the moment!) she recieved it amid much applause. Needless to say she was very humble and belittling of her work. We did however to get to this point in proceedings have to sit through rather alot of chat and formalities - some very good some... well when you repeatedly hear people adding questions starting "as he said.."/"along the same lines..."/"just to add a minor detail", you realise some people just want thier say! (even if it has already been covered or heavily inferred and understood/presumed!) But it was interesting, although I did appear to stand out amongst the minimum age of 35. When the projector wasn't switching on, crys for a teenager to fix it splattered across the room (accompanied with the inherent, "cos my son could fix it"). The President just sat abscent mindedly surveying the crowd waiting for the guy to fix it but then all of a sudden exicitedly sat up declaring "but we do have one!!!" ...whilst also (obviously) pointing her finger at me. I'll hope and presume it was the contrast to my surrounding that lowered my age by almost half a decade (well 4years)...in my experience my predicted age is often decided upon by context (ALWAYS spot on 22/23 travelling, ALWAYS lower when with older family members, haha). Needless to say in relation to the call to arms for the projector i stayed seated defiantly (and because the guy soon, embarrassed, fixed it).
