So, back in Chiang Mai, different guesthouse, this one entirely teak wood, entirely roasting inside. OUr fan merely wafts hot air around, which is obviously brilliant. Hannah is ill, same as i was, holly is too, the 'elephant girls'- people who came elephanting with us are too, and im not feeling too fablous. were meant to be catching our bus to Laos today but alas, travelling probably isnt the wisest move, so we forfeit our ticks, get some for the next day and hope like crazy were ok by then...back to the sauna that is our room for some 'rest'...not very restful, hannah and i sweating like crazy in our bed.
Holly and i go and try to find the post office, send home 7kg of i have no idea what but we no longer want to carry it around.
The next day we finally do leave for Chiang Khong, which is the Thai side of the border with Laos..The journey itself takes us through rural northern Thailand, its very beautiful and lord of the ringsy. We stop several times and eat icecreams and pay to use an unclean squat toilet..
