Thurs (29th) I left Kaikoura fairly early but it seemed to take ages to get to Picton for some reason. Really didn't do much here either. I should have gone for a long walk along the Queen Charlotte Track which is supposed to be lovely, but to be honest, I just wasn't in the mood and for once it was lovely and hot so I just lazed in the garden of the hostel. That night I watched the Wedding Singer which I still think is an absolute classic and then went to bed. Wow, exciting day, huh?!

Fri (30th) afternoon I went over to the ferry terminal and waited for my ferry to Wellington. Duncan had given me a rough idea of what time his was leaving so I hoped I would manage to catch the same, but was pleasantly surprised when I realised that I was with Chris and Ben as well. Consequently the 4 hour crossing went by relatively quickly (and only partially spent in the bar).
