We waited in line for about 40 minutes JUST to get into Jabba's Hut shop, the huuuuuuuge tent they'd set up for all the merchandise. It seems it was so big though not so they could fit more merch in, but so they could fit more people in who were waiting to buy collectors items. When we eventually got in there were probably about 300 people already waiting in line inside the shop to buy stuff.. so we didnt buy anything because it was estimated to be a 2 hour wait to purchase something
So instead we went back outside and tried to find a spot to watch the opening ceremony parade from, but the crowd was already 10 people deep and most of the park was blocked off for VIPs so we couldnt even get out of the park till after the event! gah. So although tom was suuuuper excited at the beginning of the day, he quickly got over it and decided he wasn't that big of a star wars fan. Oh it was made worse by the fact that the new star wars ride was opening that day, and people were getting their fast passes ready early. When we got to the park at 9am, they were already issuing fast passes for 6-7pm that night. ridiculous. so we gave up and went on the toy story ride. which was really fun! you got 3D glasses and sat in a cart that spins and and had to shoot the targets all around you, i even beat tom for once :D woohoo
After the toy story ride we decided that the crowds were too much and so we went over to animal kingdom. We went on an african safari ride and saw white rhinos and elephants and all kinds of cool animals, all real as well like a real safari! They have a sort of wilderness park like western plains zoo kind of, but because of the climate they are able to have alot more awesome animals. The rhino even decided to walk across the road in front of us so we had to wait for it to move :) was really cool.
I went on a super exciting rollercoaster ride through the himalayas (tom was too scared) and saw the infamous yeti. it ripped up the trac of the rollercoaster then threw us down the track backwards in the dark, it was pretty intense. So much so that as soon as the ride finished a kid vomited haha. you should have seen the staff run to cover it with sawdust. funny.
It was getting even hotter and we wanted to go on the water ride, but it was something like a 65min wait so we decided to pass on that and went home early.
