After a long day of shopping in times square, with really not many purchases, we had a good nights sleep and got up super dooper early to catch the bus to boston!

it was a lovely morning in new york and we didn't have to walk far, but when we got to the megabus bus stop, which is just the side of the road...there were already many people in line and we were like 40 minutes early! So we quickly jumped in line and then i ran across the road to get a crossaint because we hadn't eaten breakfast and then we boarded the bus.

We went up the top of the double decker bus this time and it was fun, you could see much more :D 4 bumpy and annoying hours later we made it to boston. After this trip I have a much greater appreciation of Canberra and the fact that they spend all their money on fixing roads. Even though it causes a lot of delay because of roadworks, its SOO much better than driving on pothole ridden bumpy annoying stupid roads for 4 hours, especially when you're at the top of a double decked bus!

Once in Boston we figured out we had to catch the subway then off we went to our hostel. The subway maps arent very informative though and we couldn't find a normal map of the city anywhere, so we ended up getting off about 4 stops later than what we could have, and saved a kilometre long walk down the street we were staying on, where there was a subway station at the other of the street 100m away from the hostel! Oh well, it was a good walk, even if I was slow and Tom kept stopping and telling me to hurry up. Grr I cant help that I have little legs. OH YEAH, it was super cold in boston, and all his jumpers were packed away at the bottom of his bag, so thats why he was trying to make me go faster, so we didnt freeze. haha i had a jumper on though so ner to tom.

We checked in to our hostel and it was really warm and friendly and welcoming. Definitely the nicest (and also the biggest) we've staying in so far, so we were pretty happy about this choice, it was only for 1 night though which was a bummer. We stayed in a 12 bed dorm, which is a lot of people, but everyone was out so we didnt see them anyway.

We then went for a walk across the bridge to MIT (massachusett institute of technology) and it is a really huge university. We went into the coop shop and bought some MIT merchandise as well which was fun. Then it started to sprinkle with rain so we went back to the hostel. The people running the hostel were having a meet and greet party night that night with free pizza and appetizers and some free alcoholic beverages as well, so we were set for dinner :D we just had to wait until 8:30 to eat. So we played some cards to fill in time, then 8:30 came and we went upstairs and had a couple of drinks and some pizza and met a lot of aussies. so so many australians. all very interested and jealous of our trip hehe. Then it was time for bed.
