Day 23
Wednesday 3rd December
It's December and only 3 weeks until Christmas, but it really doesn't feel like it. Even when we went to the mall yesterday and I saw the palm trees lined with sparkly lights on them, it was hard to comprehend that the festive season is upon us. Maybe my trips to colder climates next week will make me feel a little more festive!
Yesterday I went to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa with Chris. It's one of the nicest malls in California with a lot of designer and up-market shops and restaurants. Being on a budget of course, I couldn't splash out in Chanel and Dior, but I did get a skirt and some cool sunglasses in H&M (probably the cheapest shop there) and some cool Christmas gifts for Paul and Amanda.
We met Paul after he finished work and we drove to the Korean Barbeque which is a restaurant where you select what meat you want and you cook it yourself at your table on a grill. Dad would love it there! As Paul was starving we ordered three different meats; beef, chicken and wild boar. No, there's weren't any tusks left on it and yes it was very tasty! After our meat feast, we went to a tea shop and had my new favourite drink - iced green tea with boba. They do hundreds of flavours of the tea so this time around I went for almond, it was sooo good and for anyone who hasn't had boba, it's lots of jelly-like bubbles at the bottom of the cup... I'm sooo going to Chinatown in London after I get back to buy some hehe.
In the next couple of days I'm going to the local mall to get my outfit for Amanda's murder mystery party, and there's talk of a night out in LA. At some point I'm going to do the Hollywood guided bus tour of the star's homes (and take lots of photos) and another trip to the local beach is long overdue.
And next week? I have an 8-day, 3-city trip planned which I'm about to go and book this afternoon.... but you'll have to log on next week to find out where my next adventure will take me...
