With only 2 weeks to go before I depart for my American Adventure, I still have sooo much to do! I haven't even thought about packing yet, but I have thought about what shoes and handbags to take and which ones I'm wearing in Vegas and Hollywood. It's all about black this season.
Anyway, in two weeks I shall be leaving behind cold, wintery Englad in exchange for sunny California. Orange County to be precise, where my brother Paul lives with my sister-in-law Amanda and her family. The nearest beach? Laguna Beach, just quarter of an hours drive. Hollywood? An hour's train journey and just $13 for the ticket.
I don't have many solid plans for the upcoming 8-week trip. Just to go to as many cool places as I can, to shop and party to my hearts desire and to have as much fun as physically possible when one is unemployed and the economy is in the middle of a financial crisis. Not that I hadn't prepared; I've been saving for almost two years and have an ample ammount in the bank to fund my Starbucks, shoes and sightseeing for the next two months (...I might just be a bit broke when I get back next year, oh well!)
My basic plan?
1. To arrive at LAX on the evening of Nov 11th, knackered from my 11 hour flight and ready to hit the sack.
2. To go into downtown LA for the day to shop like a true Californian (minus the cute pooch in a Chloe bag) and stock up on all the basics I'll need for my trip, from fake tan to sunglasses.
3. To head off to Vegas with Paul, Amanda and their pals for the ultimate birthday party - two days and nights in Sin City. I'm hoping I can celebrate hitting quarter of a century by winning big in one of the casinos, if not then a night at a show and some cocktails will be fine.
4. To spend the following weekend in Hollywood to see the Best Band In The History Of The World in concert at the Hollywood Palladium and do plenty of partying while I'm there. I expect to have sore feet, a sore head and a sore throat by the time I return on the Monday.
5. After Thanksgiving, to head off to San Francisco and Seattle for a week of sightseeing and more adventures.
6. Then for the remaining month of my trip, play it by ear and just see where it takes me - hopefully with lots of fun places to explore and fun people to meet... depending on how much money I have left by then and how knackered I am!
But in the meantime while I'm still on British soil, I still have plenty of fun things to keep my occupied; my last day at work, a week off to chill out and enjoy being a lady of leisure, my karaoke-themed birthday/going away party with The Gang... then it's goodbye London and hello LA!
