We met Connor and his brother Gareth and his buddy Johnny to go to the Blue Mountains. Due to major lack of organisation on all fronts we missed the last train by about 5minutes and ended up going for lunch in Darling Harbour and drinks in The Rocks instead. Fancy. Ended up in Bondi to visit and old friend of Leahs.

The following day we finally got our act together to catch the train. Equipped with Sunglasses, flipfloppers and shorts and t-shirts we set out. No thought was put into the weather forecast or the high altitude of the Blue Mountains. We stepped off the train to minus degrees (exaggeration) and went straight to the nearest Op Shop to buy second-hand jumpers and jackets. Snazzy stuff. Leah managed a cute zip up but myself and John failed miserably and ended up with grubby old lady clothes. Handsome! But at least we were warm. The Blue Mountains trip was a total disaster. When we finally reached the lookout point, from which we were supposed to take in the view of the magnificent rock formation “The three Sisters” , the fog had descended thick and heavy. You couldn’t see the cable car which was only 200m ahead let alone any rocks or mountains. There were still loads of tourists posing for cheesy photos in front of the fog. We gave into the weather and went for dinner. Two days, three jackets and two expensive dinners later and the only Blue Mountains we saw were in the calendars in the gift shop. Dinner was awesome though and the company was fun. Even when our train back to Sydney was delayed.

Almost forgot our day at the Olympic Park. That was cool found Michelle Smiths name on the Pillars. Had sandwiches and watched the divers and swimmers in the Olympic swimming pool and strolled around the grounds.

Good Craic guys.

How’s all at home? Miss ye.

Love Lucy and John.
