Hi All!!

We left Delhi just as the monsoon hit! Soaked! Had to wash all our clothes in hostel to get rid of the smells and dirt of India. Both disgusted and amused when we got off the plane to our hostel in believe it or not  "Little India!" The one grubby place in Singapore! Typical :)

Singapore was a welcome change from the filth of Delhi! The place is immaculate! Of course the strict fine and litter policies help and the fact that ut's illegal to chew gum. The MRT trains run like clockwork! So effecient and helpful!

Spent almost 5 hour wandering around the zoo! It was just like being in a rainforest! Huge, leafy, exotic trees provide the animals shelter from the sun! So they were all much more active than the hot and bothered caged animals in Jaipur. Monkeys screamed and ran around fighting and picking nits from each others fur! Little otters fought with each other! A wierd animal that looked like both a deer and a mouse at once hopped about! There were many caves and rooms where you could be right in the action with giant bats hanging and swooping just overhead and enormous reptiles scurrying around beside you. The snakes were fed cute, white mice at feeding time! A white tiger stalked up and down in a river, another sat happily in the water, kitten-like! He was more beautiful than the poor molting tiger in the tiny cage in Jaipur! Three huge polar bears dived and swam in a chilled pool, dragging their heavy back paws along as they swam! So cute!
The zoo was so impressive we went back for the night safari the following night to check out the noctural animals, tribal dancers and the night show! Very impressive if a little spooky!

We had our first night out of the trip! Headed to Raflles to knock back one very expensive Singapore Sling and throw monkey nuts on the ground! Then to Clarke Quay for less expensive drinks by the river! Very trendy bars! A massive fight broke out in one of the clubs! Throwing tables and chairs and all! The band stopped and lights came on immediately! Dramatic! Chatted to two boys from the Philipinnes for the night and a crowd from South Africa! Spent an absolute fortune! But at least we got in! Had the very funny I am over 18 argument with the doorman! Ha been a while! Chuffed!

Went to a very impressive War Bunker! The Battle Box! Where we watched wax models reenact the moment that Singapore agreed to surrender to the Japenese! We walked around the bunker which was 9 metres underground and looked at the old war paraphenalia! Good fun!

Singapore was beautiful but expensive! So we decided to keep it short and sweet!

Adele got up to loads of adventures the day I was sick- an insect farm, butterfly park, beach, cable car and aquarium! All in a place called Sentosa! Sounded like great fun! I spent the day in my bunk bed calming angry Sims and building my hotel on Clodagh's Nintendo DS! Obsessed! Sabba touche!

Love ye all!
