In the afternoon we left Zion, driving up through the national park which was really cool snaking through the canyon with mountainous rocks either side, and headed over to another canyon for another hike.
We went over to Bryce Canyon, which looks like it came straight out of an Indiana Jones movie. It's a canyon filled with all these weird looking spires made out of the reddy brown sandstone. These are called hoodoo's (which I think is just the most brilliant word!). Anyway Scott told us that we were going on an "easy stroll" through the canyon which turned out to be a 6 mile hike. But it was worth it, just walking down and through all these weird spires, it made me feel like I was a tiny ant inside a huge nest. We even saw a really weird hoodoo that was kind of shaped a bit like the queen! The only hard part was the hike back up and out of the canyon, after hiking for a good 4 hours or so this morning my legs were feeling it and I'm sure they'll ache tomorrow!
Now we're off to another campsite for the night and I'm well stocked with marshmallows for the campfire!
