                                                             PUC Code / PUK Code

What is a PUC code, what can you do with it and where do you have to pay attention to? These are the subjects that are handled on this page.

PUC is the abbreviation of "Personal Unlock Code". You will use the PUC code very few times. You will only need the PUC code when your gave in the wrong pincode 3 times or when you've forgot your pincode. You can find more information about the pincode elsewhere within this helpdesk.

When you buy a new cellular phone you will receive the PUC code together with the simcard. You can find this code on a piece of paper or on a piece of cardboard. The PUC code is a standard code you can't change. You have to preserve your PUC code on a safe place because you will need it when you give in the wrong pincode 3 times. When you do this your cellular phone will ask for your PUC code. The PUC code always consists out of 8 numbers. Your cellular phone asks for the PUC code automatically when you press in the wrong pincode 3 times. When you have the PUC code you can also change the pincode without giving in the old pincode. This is the same at all devices. WATCH OUT: Don't rummage around with this function if you don't have the PUC code. When you give in the wrong code 9 times your simcard will be blocked and can't be repaired anymore.

If you give in the code above you have to press "ok" or the send button and by this your pincode will be changed into the new pincode. You have to give in the new pincode twice to prevent any faults.

What do you have to do when you don't have your PUC code anymore or when you gave in the wrong PUC code 9 times? You have a big problem. You can't unlock your cellular phone if your gave in the wrong pincode 3 times. You can't use your simcard anymore. In this case you should contact your provider to ask for a new simcard. Unfortunately you will have to pay for this most of the time.
