                                                                           PIN2 Code

You can read all about the pincode elsewhere within this helpdesk. However, there's more then this. There are also PIN2 codes. The PIN2 code is also simcard committed. What's the PIN2 code, what can you do with it and where do you have to pay attention to? These are the subjects that are handled on this page.

PIN is the abbreviation of "Personal Identification Number". We come across a PIN code at many devices: at alarms, cash cards and also at the cellular phone. Mostly a pincode protects something against abuse, and at the cellular phone this is also the case. Naturally, you don't want anyone to call with your cellular phone unasked when it's turned off. To make sure this doesn't happen you can switch on the PIN code on your device. How to do this is different with every cellular phone, but in most cases you can do this in the menu "security".

When you buy a cellular phone most of the time the pincode is 0000 as a standard. You will only receive the PIN2 code at some providers whereby this code isn't standard. The PIN2 code is used for covering certain network services such as cost management. Most networks don't support these services and because of this they don't furnish the PIN2 code. Anyway, every simcard possesses a PIN2 code.

If you know the standard PIN2 code you can change this. WATCH OUT: If you don't know your PIN2 code don't try to change this code because if your give in the wrong code 3 times your cellular phone will block and you can't use any services on it anymore. When this happens you need your PUC2 code. When you want to change your PIN2 code you can do this in the menu "security" of your cellular phone most of the time. However, there's also an instruction code to change the PIN2 code, this code works on every device. For more information about the simcard or the PUC2 code you can look elsewhere within this helpdesk.

When you gave in the code above you have to press "ok" or press the send key. After this your PIN2 code is changed into the new PIN2 code. You have to give in your new PIN2 code twice to prevent any faults.
