The drive from Melbourne to Adelaide is fairly long and boring and surprisingly nothing much has changed. I was a bit disappointed though. There is a really sweet place we used to stop at and have afternoon tea but they've now changed hands and expanded and added an amazingly expensive giftshop. They had bars of lavender soap for $7!!!!

I love Adelaide too, although I guess it can be a bit quiet if you don't know where to go.

We stayed with my brother, Damian, who is a whiz in the kitchen and finally got to meet my niece Ruby.

It was fantastic to be able to celebrate my Dad's birthday with him. I haven't been there for his birthday for over 10 years.

Caught up on all the news from my beautiful friends, Diana and Kylie and that was Adelaide.

I am absolutely stunned at how much it has changed though. There seems to have been this massive influx of people from all over the world over the last three years. It's definitely a lot busier than it used to be. The amount of people on the streets and the huge increase in traffic!

The same thing has happened though that has happened in other places. Progress and money has taken hold and the lovely shorelines are being destroyed by these horrible, big, ugly mansions. The tentacles of real estate out where we used to live are creeping further and further out into what once were expanses of farming land. Hopefully they'll plant loads of trees soon to cover all the new development.

Adelaide is growing - and fast!
