We stayed with a family near Perquin. We took a bus, and then went in a small truck, the kind we use to put sheep in it, which took us  minutes away from the place, and then walked the rest with our heavy backpacks on. The place has a pool filled up over the years with rain water, we went for a deep, it was a bit muddy and the bottom felt like a lake. We slept in a small cabina, lit by a candle (because the place has no water and no electricty, they drink the rain water and cook with it, and use candles at night), the lady cooked us dinner, which was the same as breakfast: beans from the garden, eggs from the chicken, cheese from the cow and homemade tortilla. The owner, a mum of two grown adults, live there with her adoptive daughter, who in turn has two small children. A third child lives there, his mum just dropped him off one morning when he was a baby because she couldnīt look after him. They live off the few gringos that come by, the people who want to swim or play soccer on her field, and of what she cultivates: beans, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, bananas and coffee. They have a lot of chicken, three dogs, about 5 cows and a pig. It rained pretty much all the time, so we couldnīt do too much work, but it had a positive side: we could wash our hands and brush our teeth with the water running from the roof. In the morning, as i was putting my stuff together, two cockroaches came out of it, and when i moved my backpack off the wall, a frog was sitting behind it. It is a very simple life but the people there are genuinely happy. They are the friendliest and we enjoyed it a lot.
