Today we left Disneyland and spent the day at Universal Studios in Hollywood. By the time we got there at noon, the temperature was about 90 degrees. We decided to take the Studios tour first. Most of the tour we had seen before, but they have added an amazing King Kong 3D experience which we really enjoyed. Your tour tram stops in a tunnel and then all of a sudden you are right in the middle of a massive battle between King Kong and a tyrannosaurus rex. Your tram shakes and bucks and drops over cliffs and it seems like Kong and the dinosaur are going to come right into your tram, it is all very exciting.

After the studio tour we decided to take the Jurassic Park ride and were "lucky" enough to get seated in the front row of this large raft. We had convinced ourselves that the people in the back rows got much wetter than the people in the front. How wrong we were. After the 100 ft. drop at the end of the ride the water came exploding into the raft and got us full in the face, just like someone blasting you with a large hose. When we left the ride, dripping wet, we headed for a sunny spot and enjoyed a cold beer while we dried out.

Universal was not crowded at all so we were able to ride the rest of the attractions with little waiting time. We walked around, did a bit of shopping and looked at the sets until the studio closed at 5. Right next to Universal is an area called City Walk which is a long block of stores and restaurants. We spent our evening there eating, drinking and shopping until about 9. It was a fun day but we were happy to be back in our hotel at the end of it.

Here are pictures and a short video of the Jurassic Park ride.
