Phuket to Surrathani

So we woke up at quarter to seven this morning. Packed up. Had our complementary toast, coffee and banana. Walked to the bus station (only a 15 minute walk... and before the crazy heat of the afternoon). Found our bus, situated ourselves, and spent the next four or five hours on our way to Surrathani... stopping all the time to let people on and off (local type bus... but with aircon, so im as happy as a pea in a pod). Our mission in getting to Surrathani so early was to make our way to the train station and attempt to upgrade to a sleeper with a fan. unfortunatly it doesnt look like that is going to happen, unless someone cancels. There is no availability on our train, and limited availability on later trains, but our train gets in tommorow morning at 5 and our bus takes off at 7 (we will have to tuk tuk to the Khaosan from the train station), so any later of a train is cutting it too close. C'est la vie mais non? Not worth stressing out, it will be what it will be... but if it be aircon, ill be happier. (* yes mother, im aware of my improper usage of the english language). Also... as beth just pointed out to me, we are right across the street from a 7eleven... YAY!!! Not having 7eleven for two days has been a source of perpetual strife for the two of us, its lovely green, orange and red sign like a beacon... we cant resists, like moths to a flame. Well stock up because there will be no eating for the rest of tonight and all day tommorow, so tuna fish, special k bars and whatever goods we get at 711 will have to hold us over. We have been for the last two days, driving ourselves to the point of starvation before we eat... not by choice, just the nature of our travel schedule i suppose. But hey, isn't that what teh 'asia diet' is all about :) Soy glass noodles with chicken is my staple on this trip (like spagetti bolognese was on the 6 month around the world trip a decade ago).... anywho, this is the slowest connection known to man, and expensive, so im signing out. Next time i update we will have new stamps in our passports... YAY CAMBODIA!!!
